About Emily Boyd

After graduating from the University of Colorado with a degree in Environmental Design, Emily began her journey west where she was captivated by another mountain region, the Sierras. It was working with Brian Shinault Architects in South Lake Tahoe where her strong emphasis on sustainable & carefully planned design with creative construction techniques. She gained valuable experience working on time share projects, hotels, restaurants, casinos, bars, ski resort amenities, and even the garbage recycling assembly line for South Tahoe Refuse. Five years later, she took this extensive development experience, balanced it with her love for the natural environment and formed Design Haus where she was the primary designer on many custom homes, remodels, and commercial projects. In 2013 she expanded the company to Design Haus Architects. Although the partnership was short lived, she continues her pursuit to become a licensed architect. With over two decades of experience working alongside architects, engineers, planners and contractors, her ability to integrate structure with design for cost efficient construction makes her an asset to any project. Emily currently resides in Vallejo and continues to provide services to both the Bay Area and Lake Tahoe regions. She has a positive outlook and truly enjoys collaborating with Owners on designs that help them realize their dreams!
