About Emily Brackman

Hello! I am an accounting student attending Tennessee Technological University. I am also a member of Beta Alpha Psi. A strong work ethic and a passion for problem-solving guided me to choose accounting as a profession, and I haven’t looked back. My internship at a small accounting firm reinforced my decision to pursue an accounting degree. Updating financial statements and performing test work in Excel opened my eyes to the versatility of an accounting degree. Working alongside the partner, I learned about the audit process and how to communicate efficiently with an authority figure. I also have experience with QuickBooks, calculating payroll and sending invoices for my dad’s land surveying business. To say I learned patience from working with family would be an understatement. After graduating in the Spring of 2024, I will continue my education, working towards a master’s in accounting in the following fall at Tennessee Tech University. Ultimately, I want to become a Certified Public Accountant working for the audit department of a public firm that values integrity and community. From there, growing as a professional is the objective.Outside work and school, I am probably reading, watching YouTube documentaries, or scrolling on Pinterest. I am passionate about having an informed outlook on life and challenging my mind. Continual personal and professional growth has been my priority lately, and I am excited to further my education and experience!
