About Emily Cabay

While being a high school student, athlete, and having a job at a snake breeder/ pet store, I developed skills in time management, persistence, patience, critical thinking, customer service, and attention to detail. As a collage student, and research assistant, I further developed these skills while also learning how to use programs like Nvivo, SPSS, and Excel. I created a foundation for research experience and was recognized as one of 4 students in Georgia Southern history to receive the certificate of honor for Advanced Human Ecology Research Scholar. I was also the only student to have that honor paired with an official publication of my research in SOCTL. I learned advanced scholarly writing skills, continued to develop critical thinking, time management skills, and attention to detail. I started developing skills in: drawing novel conclusions, inquiry, taking nots, preparation, editing my own work, and working with a mentor, publishers, and editors. I am currently starting a new project with another mentor at Georgia Southern. This past year as a leasing agent I have developed phonemail customer service, creative thinking, and problem solving skills. I have been top in sales, many times, along side more experienced team members. Having no sales, or leasing experience prior, I had to quickly learn the laws, policies, phone and email educate, multiple programs, and teamwork, simultaneously. I am able to multitask between answering phones in a timely fashion while still making in person prospects/ residents feel prioritized.
