As a Commercial Property Underwriter, I lead by example. My journey in underwriting began with assessing strata risks, providing tailored solutions, and building strong broker relationships. In this high-volume area of commercial property, I learned to work well under pressure and this paved the way for my continued growth in the commercial property sphere. As a mentorship and training advocate, seeing my team improve (and with the metrics to back it) brings me the greatest joy. I’ve found that in this industry between the work volume and the tight timelines, opportunities for mentorship can be limited. My goal is to change that. My commitment to excellence extends beyond underwriting and I take pride in mentoring and training the next generation of insurance nerds. By empowering new team members with the knowledge and skills needed to excel and facilitating the licensing process, I know it is possible to attract the best people into the Underwriting field.
