About Emily Dauster

I am a registered nurse with nearly 3 years of acute care nursing experience on a cardiac telemetry/step-down unit and 2 years of experience as a telephone triage RN in an outpatient internal medicine setting, which is also my current role. My current telephone triage role requires excellent assessment skills and critical thinking to provide patients with the best advice for their medical conditions, both chronic and acute. It involves educating patients on test results, medications, preventative care, self-management skills, and lifestyle modifications for improved health outcomes. Along with providing quality healthcare advice, this role includes collaborating with physicians and nurse practitioners to effectively serve our patients' healthcare needs. I am most passionate about nursing education, especially in regards to preventative healthcare and wellness. I am enrolled with the University of Central Missouri in the Master of Science in Nursing- Nurse Educator program on track to graduate in Fall of 2023. As a life-long learner, I continually strive to acquire up-to-date and evidence based knowledge to improve my nursing practice and achieve good patient outcomes.
