About Emily Evans

Working as both an educator and illustrator. I have a strong interest in curating, managing and developing collaborative projects for education, industry and the public. I am am a Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA). Research sits alongside my practice through research into the processes of making. Recent and ongoing research projects cover the use of new print process in Higher Education Art Schools. In addtion the Gordon Peter Pickard Travel Award into Illustration through my research project Research 'Wild Collage' a travelling research trip exxploring the process of using collage and mixed media. My illustration practice is across both commercial and experimental projects, I am multi-disciplinary illustrator and have worked across: textile design, art-direction, animation, music art-work, music videos and design. Working across various mediums means I am flexible and enjoy collaboration. As a graphic artist I work on both commissioned artwork and self-initiated work for gallery's and clients. My work has always also crossed over into the education and music sphere either through volunteering, leading workshops or in a teaching capacity. My interest in the relationship between music and art is reflected in almost all my work. All the collectives I am part of have a strong relationship with music and also often involve events. I set up Cover Club alongside Natalia Maus. Cover Club is a night that puts the spotlight on the brilliant minds behind today and yesterday’s most creative record cover artwork and was held at Ace Hotel Shoreditch.
