About Emily Fenwick

I'm a strategic and operational leader with 20 years of cross-sector experience driving complex initiatives across government, nonprofit, and SaaS organizations. Currently, I serve as Director of Strategic Initiatives/Technical Program Management at CivicPlus, where I translate executive priorities into executable programs and build the systems that support product growth and operational alignment. My career has spanned roles in product operations, implementation leadership, strategic planning, and environmental stewardship. I’ve built and led high-performing teams, launched national-scale solutions, and helped bridge the gap between strategy and delivery across fast-paced, evolving organizations. Before CivicPlus, I supported infrastructure investment and institutional strategy at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, managed environmental graduate programs at CU Boulder, and led conservation efforts at Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado. My background is rooted in public service, education, and environmental impact - with degrees in Environmental Studies, Earth Science, Public Administration, and Renewable Energy. I'm passionate about mission-driven work that connects people, systems, and long-term impact. Whether supporting local governments, building tech for good, or strengthening community-based food systems, I’m committed to operational excellence that empowers meaningful change.
