About Emily Grace

I'm Emily, a technical writer from the Kansas City metro area with almost 20 years of experience, though honestly, I was born for this. As a kid, I wrote instructions on notecards and read every manual I could find.(Yes, really.) & : I've worked for an aerial work platform company, creating documentation for physical equipment. I've also worked with SaaS and IT companies in the healthcare and banking sectors, creating documentation for desktop, web, and mobile applications. & : I don't just write; I strategize, structure, and optimize documentation to make it engaging, intuitive, and actually helpful. After all, what's the point of information if no one can use it: I can juggle multiple projects and deadlines and can manage hundreds (sometimes thousands) of documents. Staying organized is my strength. I also enjoy project management and leading teams of technical writers, ensuring that workflows remain streamlined, efficient, and running smoothly. & : Great documentation isn't created in silos. I work collaboratively across teams to bridge gaps, align information, and ensure content is accurate, impactful, and aligned with stakeholder goals. Beyond writing, I am a strategic influencer, balancing collaboration with authority to promote cross-team alignment. I adapt to team dynamics, proactively identify roadblocks, and drive solutions through actionable problem-solving and innovation. & : I’m an advocate for ethical AI to support technical writers, not replace them! I love sharing knowledge, mentoring technical writers, and starting meaningful conversations about what makes a great technical writer. Whether you're just starting out or a seasoned pro, let's connect, exchange ideas, and grow together!
