Emily Hobbs has been a Registered Nurse for 25 years. She graduated with Distinction with her Master in Healthcare Administration degree in September 2016, with a certificate in Healthcare Operations. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2002 from Southwest Baptist University and Associate of Science in Nursing from Cox College in both located in Springfield, Missouri. She began her career in Home Health Care in 2003, with more than 4 years as a Home Health Case Manager. Her 7 years in leadership includes multiple positions within the Home Health industry as Director of Nursing, Administrator, Quality Assurance Director, and Corporate Compliance Officer. She is certified in OASIS, with a HCS-O credential and HCS-D and HCS-H ICD 10 coding through the Board of Medical Specialty Coding & Compliance (BMSC). She also has a certification in home health compliance HCS-C through the BMSC. She has experience in Quality Assurance chart audits, ADR audits, ZPIC/UPIC/RAC audits, and drafting official MAC, QIO, and ALJ appeals. She is experienced in coding/OASIS reviews, quality assurance & performance improvement audits, clinical due diligence audits for mergers and acquisitions, developing agency policies & procedures, conducting mock surveys, and drafting/implementing plan of corrections. She has given multiple presentations on behalf of Decision Health, as well as agency specific education on Home Health Basics, OBQI, QAPI, HHCAHPS, Home Health Compare/STARS, Conditions of Participation, Medicare eligibility, medical necessity and homebound requirements, face to face documentation, and the OASIS data set. She has also developed multiple disease process pathways to be utilized with staff and patients to ensure proper staff utilization, standards of care, and patient education for proven patient improvement and independence in the home.
