After graduating from City University and Lesley University, Emily was a National Board Certified special education teacher for 15 years before becoming a mortgage loan advisor. She also worked on the Microsoft campus for four years prior to becoming a teacher. She has great skills in marketing and technology. Emily loves to read, garden, play golf, and teach. She lives in Maple Valley with her husband, Walter, and their Yorkshire terrier. Past Emily had been teaching special education and general education intervention groups since 2004. She was also a site coordinator and teacher for the Washington Alliance for Better Schools Twenty-First Century after school learning and enrichment programs. She used creative ways to teach academic skills and new behaviors to her students. She focuses on positive behavior and the student as a human being that was growing and learning every second of the day. She is extremely tech savvy and her greatest strength is efficiency and getting many things done at once. She also did some private academic and behavioral tutoring outside of normal school hours. Children are innocent, happy creatures that should make us all smile every day. They are forever learning and what they pick up from all of us as adults should be positive, life changing experiences! We need to treat them as though they are our future. Because they are!
