About Emily Johncox

My compass: People, Planet, Profit, and Policy. These cardinal directions steer my professional life at PwC and my community service in Metro Atlanta. I lead teams to build solutions with sustainable outcomes - where businesses, governments, communities, and natural resources all work together for the greater good. We live in a rapidly changing world where trust is sinking, inequality is swimming, and climate change is rocking the boat. At PwC, I chart the path for businesses to rise to the occasion - reducing their carbon impact and reinventing their business models while creating shareholder value and longevity. The solutions aren't simple, but there's nothing I love more than solving big problems. Evolving technologies for efficiency and electrification, new solutions for alternative fuels, and policy investments in clean energy have changed the trajectory. Even my clients in "hard-to-decarbonize sectors" are seeing positive ROI solutions to reducing their carbon footprints thanks to cost savings, tax incentives, and new revenue opportunities. In Metro Atlanta, a different set of challenges are making waves. Children who grow up in poverty have only a 4% chance of moving into the middle class. Just 11% of Atlanta Public School children who are economically disadvantaged read proficiently by third grade. children in 79 communities are at risk of not reaching their potential due to where they live. I have the ability, and responsibility, to make a difference, so I work together with non-profits to make our community better by improving childhood literacy, building economic stability, and protecting the resources that provide clean air, clean water, and recreation to our city. As a Georgia Tech and Purdue engineer, problem solving to create positive change is what I do. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but I'm up to the challenge. If we work together, we can set a course for an environmentally sustainable, socially just, and economically profitable future.
