About Emily Johnson

I’m a dedicated housing and social services professional who cares deeply about building inclusive, supportive communities. My work is driven by a commitment to creating practical, innovative solutions that help people navigate complex social challenges and find safe, stable housing. In my current role, I lead the community-level planning and implementation of BC Housing’s Coordinated Access and Assessment (CAA) initiative. This means working closely with partners to connect people who are homeless, hard-to-house, or facing multiple barriers with the right placements across the housing continuum. I also conduct assessments, match applicants to programs and vacancies, and collaborate with stakeholders to strengthen coordination and improve service quality in the sector. I’m also pursuing a Professional Certification in Public Policy and Governance at the University of Victoria, which is allowing me to expand my skills in policy and governance so I can better support long-term, systemic solutions to housing and social equity.
