About Emily Lieber

I am in my third year at Cal Poly studying Aerospace Engineering with a concentration in Astronautics and a minor in Astronomy. I currently work with Dr. Abercromby to conduct thermal vacuum chamber testing with STELLA (the Space Thermal Environment Laboratory for Low-Pressure Assessment funded by the Cal Poly Aerospace Engineering Department). I also work with Dr. Vijayakumar on mission design for the Mars Mini Rover project as a collaboration between the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering departments at Cal Poly. I am a past member of the Cal Poly CubeSat Laboratory as the Education & Outreach Co-Lead, where I helped educate Cal Poly students and our local community about our student-run lab where we design, manufacture, and launch real satellites. I was also a member of the Systems Engineering and Analysis sub-team where we developed mission design architecture such as ConOps, Product Breakdown Structure, Work Breakdown Structure, Requirements, ICDs, and more for our flight missions. Additionally, I was a member of the committee dedicated to organizing and enacting the 2025 CubeSat Developer's Workshop, an annual conference that hosts industry professionals from around the world. I also play for the Division I Cal Poly Women's Soccer team as a 3-year starting forward. Managing both athletics and academics at the highest level helps me strengthen skills pertaining to teamwork, communication, interpersonal relations, time management, and problem solving to set me apart from my peers. I strive for excellence in all areas of my life while also maintaining a healthy balance between work and social interactions.
