About Emily Light

I am a second-year BA English and Communications undergraduate at the University of Exeter currently seeking a short-term placement opportunity as part of the course. I have a strong academic background with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, advanced knowledge of editing software intended for marketing and rich experience in leadership and customer-facing roles. I recently undertook a module on Communication Challenges which I averaged 89%, and was recognised for the Best Documentary Award (I have linked my portfolio below). I was later recruited for the University's Social Media Committee as a Social Media Strategist, and this has sparked my interest in developing my expertise in data analysis and management skills to pursue a future career in management consultancy. My interest in Operations and Data Analysis allowed me to volunteer leading a small team in sourcing and organising hygiene-related care kits at Clean Conscience for the vulnerable, ensuring efficient distribution and quality control. I demonstrated strong leadership, organisational skills and attention to detail in managing both local and international initiatives. But most importantly, I contributed to coordinating a large-scale shipment to Sierra Leone, overseeing logistics and ensuring each parcel met specific community needs.
