About Emily Luk

I'm a Vancouver-based VFX artist specializing in texture painting for feature films. Over the course of my 10+ year career, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of projects, working on diverse assets including environments, hard-surface props, and both human and creature characters. I currently hold a Lead Texture Painter position at Image Engine. My core expertise lies in painting and applying photorealistic textures to CG models, along with creating detailed maps and shaders. I work with a range of industry-standard tools—including Maya, Substance Painter, Mari, Nuke, Photoshop, and Gaffer—to develop fully realized CG assets from photographic references, ensuring seamless integration into production pipelines. Over the past year, I've continued to expand my skills in look development and concept work. Outside of work, you will often find me illustrating, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with loved ones.
