From storytelling to stakeholder liaison, from best practice guidance to cross-border planning and governance, I passionately believe that strategic communications is a business imperative, helping to connect people, performance, and purpose. I have 20+ years’ experience as a strategic communications professional, delivering media, communications and engagement solutions to support a range of organisations in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. While my current focus is strategic internal communications, I’m experienced in media relations, corporate communications, employee engagement, crisis communications, change communications, and event management. I have a proven track record of building teams and collaborative alliances to deliver strategic communications aligned to business goals, protect and enhance our brand, and support employee engagement. As Firmwide Communications Lead within NSE Communications, I direct strategic communications and firmwide programmes to deliver communications to our people and 3,500+ partners. I joined Deloitte in late 2016, to establish and lead Deloitte Ireland’s internal communications function. For KBC Bank Ireland (KBCI)(2013 - 2016), I drove KBCI’s Sustainability strategy and related initiatives and communications activity. This included leading strategic projects, reporting on outcomes, and recommending future development opportunities. I was also responsible for implementing organisational culture and internal communications initiatives to embed the bank's corporate value system and behaviours. While working with Carr Communications, I was seconded for 3+ years to the press office of An Garda Síochána (Ireland's national policing service) as Public Relations and Internal Communications Manager. While there, I established the organisation's internal communications function, and led communications for the launch of Ireland's mobile safety camera roll-out to improve road safety. I have wide-ranging agency experience in public relations and communications, strategy development and implementation including media relations, event management, sponsorship management, media training, crisis management, corporate communications, copywriting and editing, writing and managing reports and publications, social media management and internal communications strategy and execution.
