About Emily Marsh

Hi! I am a current Public Relations Major at Biola University and also an employee at REI. I love anything to do with the outdoors and adventures, whether spontaneous or planned. I'm also a big reader and a firm believer that you can never have too many books. I love learning new things and trying new experiences, especially when I get to do those things in another country. I haven't been everywhere, but it's on my list. I have always loved people, and I also love to write. That is what drew me to being a public relations major. I was undeclared for awhile while I tried to figure out what to do, and then I took a long break in the middle of college while I sorted that out. Then one day, someone who knew how much I liked to write and edit suggested I do journalism. I had never thought of that, but I loved the idea and talked about it with some people afterwards. I eventually ended up going with public relations instead of journalism because I feel like I have more options with PR, without losing any of the opportunities I could have had with journalism. I have always loved to write and travel, and my dream is to one day be able to write for National Geographic or something similar so I can get paid to travel the world and write about the places I go. I sometimes journal when I am traveling, mainly so I don't forget details of the amazing places I have been. It would be so much more fun though to be able to write those same journals for other people so I can share the beauty of the world with them. I have always loved to tell stories, and with my lifelong love for talking and writing, I've gotten pretty good at it over the years. I feel like I should use that, along with my love of travel and of this beautiful world we live in, to help as many people as possible learn about it too. Hopefully it will get even more people to get out of their comfort zones and go explore new places! I also hope it can help those who may not be as able to travel to read my stories on places and feel as if they are there themselves. My hope is that my passion for what I do will show in what I one day write, and inspire the same passion in others.
