About Emily McCormick

Following my studies at the University of North Texas, I went on to work primarily in community engagement. I somewhat stumbled upon an opportunity canvassing for KERA through employment with Donor Development Strategies. The position gifted me with a newfound appreciation for grassroots efforts and instilled a lot of confidence as I was knocking on doors in the DFW area. I went on to become the Assistant Canvass Director where I recruited, organized, and led teams of canvassers to fundraise through face to face interactions. In November of 2020 I joined KERA's membership team as the On-Air Fundraising Associate. While my focus is KERA FM, 90.1 I have the unique opportunity of coordinating all on-air fundraising. It is a dream come true to utilize my creativity and passion for public media through my means of work. Access to public media is access to education and the arts and it is my goal to directly have a hand in ensuring long term public media growth in North Texas. In addition to my work I enjoy public speaking, reading good books, listening to thought provoking podcasts, writing, and making connections daily with my neighbors. I aspire to someday be a published author!
