About Emily Oconnor

A neat-freak. An optimist. A dreamer. I've been struggling with what to write in my summary. I'm fully aware that LinkedIn is a professional social network and therefore know that I should probably keep everything concise and on-point to my credentials but I already have my work experience listed out in great detail on this very website. Instead, I want to take this opportunity to share a little about myself that is not always conveyed through a resume or may not be fully evident in a cover letter or not even discussed in an interview. I want to try something a little different. I can tell the world (read: perspective employer) that I am an efficient and diligent employee who is comfortable with Microsoft Office, can easily change tasks quite quickly with little effort, and a team player. All of which is true but can also be said about 90% of the other applicants. So, instead, I want to share a little bit more about me. I am reliable, honest, passionate, and usually quite cheerful. I try to see the best in situations and people. Please don't misunderstand me, I have "off" moments as we are all apt to have from time-to-time; I am human. But I am also a big believer in that every new day or even minute (depending on the day) is a chance to take a deep breath and start fresh. I am a very loyal person and would love to find a team that not only appreciates my contributions but also emulates the values that I try to live by and encourages me to strive for more. I want to find a company that values it's employees, the community in which it serves, and is making a positive impact on society. I want to look forward to going to work everyday because I am serving a purpose and making a difference not simply punching a time-card in order to receive a paycheck. I am ready for my next adventure; please help me find it!
