About Emily Ott

During my junior year of high school, my grandmother got diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, and she passed away shortly after her diagnosis. Right after she was diagnosed, she immediately started chemotherapy and radiation. As a young adult, this was extremely hard to watch. It amazed me how a medication that could be life saving could also be so harsh on the body. At this same time, I was taking chemistry, and I fell in love with it instantly. From here, I decided that I wanted to become part of the change. I wanted to help find a way to have medications help individuals and not cause such painful side effects. This is when I knew I wanted to become a pharmacist, and the farther I get into my education, the more excited I get as I know I am one step closer to helping make a difference in a patient's life.
