Emily Polichette has been engaged in healthcare for over 20 years. During this tenure, they have developed a drive to expand accessibility, improve health equity, and generally stated,'imagine perfect care'. Working for the University of Utah has been an excellent meld with their own values in the existence of an 'Imagine Perfect Care' initiative. Emily is a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC #08515). They received their Master’s of Music Therapy in 2011 and Bachelor’s of Music Therapy in 2007 from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. They became a State Certified Music Therapist (SCMT) in 2014. Emily is working in mental health as a music therapist. Professional engagement has remained a priority for Emily. They currently serve as co-chair to the Utah Music Therapy State Recognition Task Force. They previously served as Continuing Education Director and an Assembly Delegate for the Western Region of the American Music Therapy Association (WRAMTA). They present regularly at local, regional, national, and international conferences. Outside of their clinical profession, Emily enjoys engaging in music and taking advantage of the outdoors. They hail originally from Kentucky and have an avid love for bluegrass and old-time music. As a trumpet player, Emily is a huge fan of orchestral and jazz music. They play with a local honk band, The Lavendar Menaces, and the University Medical Orchestra. They moved to Utah in 2011 and adore the outdoor access!
