About Emily Purdon

Emily is the Director of Operations at Brooklyn Fi, a remote, fee-only financial planning firm. She leads the BKFi operations team, overseeing the firm's systems, processes, hiring, and people programs. She is a seasoned financial planning professional with over eight years of experience in client advisory, tax, financial planning, and coaching. Previously, Emily led XY Planning Network's in-house team of tax experts for two years, leveraging her experience as a financial planner with her talent for creating scalable processes. Emily is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and a graduate of Kansas State University, where she earned a master of science degree in personal financial planning and a certificate in financial therapy. Additionally, she completed the FPA Residency Program and served as a Teaching Assistant for KSU’s and Virginia Tech's financial planning programs. Emily has been recognized for her outstanding research, teaching, and leadership skills, winning multiple awards and honors from associations and academic institutions.
