Background
About Emily Scott
About Me I recently joined Winter Wildlands Alliance as the Operations Coordinator, where I'm dedicated to supporting and organizing staff projects, helping to manage WWA's membership and outreach program, and coordinating events. As a native of Idaho, I feel incredibly fortunate to have grown up in the captivating town of Sun Valley, where the mountains became my playground and ignited my passion for nature. My childhood roots nurtured a deep appreciation for the fragility of our environment and instilled in me a lifelong commitment to conservation, influencing every aspect of my life. In pursuit of this passion, I moved to Boise in 2017 to obtain a Bachelor's in Environmental Studies and a Minor in Spanish from Boise State University. During my academic journey, I explored the intricate balance of human-nature interactions, emphasizing the urgency of preserving and restoring ecosystems. Winter Wildlands Alliance's mission, values, and commitment to diversity deeply resonate with me. I firmly believe in the inherent value of nature and the shared responsibility to protect it for all generations and people, breaking barriers and embracing inclusivity. Working alongside a passionate team of like-minded individuals at WWA fills me with a profound sense of purpose and gratitude. Before joining WWA, I had the opportunity to work a variety of jobs and internships, including researching land use in Thunder Basin National Grassland at Boise State and organizing California Condor behavior data at the Peregrine Fund (World Center for Birds of Prey). Contributing to research that informs sound conservation efforts and decisions is a driving force in my career. When I'm not dedicated to protecting our public lands and coordinating operations at WWA, you can often find me dancing at Ophidia Studio, floating and swimming in the Boise River, practicing yoga, hiking in the Boise foothills, or camping near a serene lake. I'm excited to connect with fellow professionals who share a passion for conservation, advocacy, and making a positive impact on our environment. Let's work together to preserve the beauty of our natural world for generations to come! Feel free to reach out for networking, collaboration, or to share your own conservation stories. I look forward to connecting with you!
