About Emily Sitter

Emily Sitter received her Bachelor Degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation and Psychology minor from Brock University. With over eight years of clinical experience in long-term care, community care, and post-acute care as well as project coordination, I am motivated to further integrate arts-based modalities into healthcare, identify barriers to accessing quality, client-centered care, and contribute towards an integrated continuum of care for older adults. I am particularly inspired and driven to seek opportunities to collaborate on innovative initiatives that bridge the arts and health care fields together, focusing on successful aging opportunities for our older adult populations and supporting their evolving, complex care needs. Emily is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, a Registered Professional of Therapeutic Recreation Ontario, a member of the Canadian College of Health Leaders and a member of the National Organization of Arts in Health (NOAH). As of Spring 2022, I am also a graduate alumni from the Ted Rogers School of Management, where she completed a Master of Health Administration (Community Care) program. My professional development allows me to further comprehend and strategize how the demand of healthcare programs and services can be addressed by integrating innovative, arts-based care to evoke self-expression, creativity, imagination, and community connection.
