About Emily Smart

Emily Smart has been working in the film industry for almost 20 years in the roles of Editor, 1st Assistant Director, Consulting Producer, and Production Manager /Coordinator. Emily grew up in a small town in Michigan but fell in love with the Caribbean and its culture way back in 2003, moving to the region in 2006 and living there ever since. She has worked with independent filmmakers and corporate clients on a wide variety of film and video projects. Some of the clients she's worked with include: UNICEF, CARICOM, Avon, Caribbean Export Development Agency, and Caribbean Tourism Organization. In 2022, she wrote and directed her first short film "The Incident". This film represents her decade long dream of being a writer/director. The short film is part of the back story for the feature film she is currently developing, a supernatural female-driven thriller:"Shadow Legacy" to be shot in Trinidad. In addition to the feature, Emily also has several projects in development including a TV series about Caribbean vampires and its pilot script was a finalist at the Oaxaca FilmFest Screenplay Competition.
