About Emily Sneed

Dear potential employers, My name is Emily Sneed. In KinderCare's private setting, I have taught two advanced learning programs, Pre-K, a Summer Program for school-aged youth, under 13; I taught 5th, 4th, 2nd and 1st Grades at the public school level throughout Atlanta and its metropolitan districts. I am a hard worker, dedicated, caring, and committed to making a difference in the early education of our youth. During my first year of teaching at the public school level, of the 2019/2020 SY, schools were shut down due to the rapid spread of COVID-19, resulting in virtual learning strategies for the remainder of the school year. I believe this gives me an advantage to other candidates who have not had the experience of online teaching. I was able to create a virtual classroom environment by hosting interactive classes via Zoom Lessons. I also created a Google Classroom account in which I enrolled all of my students in; this served as a platform for my students to find the provided/necessary materials in order for them to succeed, as well as submit their work to. I created homework assignments, tests, and quizzes all on Google Forms; although this can be a lengthy process, the outcome is well worth it, especially with the option for an assignment to grade itself. One of my key strengths as an educator is getting to know my students on an individual level so that I am able to learn each of their own strengths and weaknesses, as well as incorporate different learning and engagement strategies into my lesson plans. I am very conscious of utilizing both positive language when communicating with my students and positive reinforcements to aid in desired behaviors.
