About Emily Spencer

Trained as a qualitative analyst and academic researcher, currently bridging out of academia and into Legal Studies. Recent doctoral graduate in ethics and moral epistemology, with interest in philosophy of psychology and applied philosophy. Recent graduate in paralegal studies at the University of Cincinnati (may 2025) and very excited to combine my love of research and detailed analysis with more practical, individual subject matter. While I will always love academic philosophy and will seek to publish and conference within it at some level, my interactions with the CASA program, the local Preble County Medical Reserve Corps. and my experiences as founding member of the Minorities and Philosophy program at my most recent alma mater, University of Notre Dame, have convinced me that I want to build my career in a direction that emphasizes helping people at the individual level. Being the research nerd that I am, the legal field is a natural fit! I enjoy both detailed process work and generating new ideas meant to devise feasible solutions to broadly relevant problems. My colleagues would describe me as a driven, resourceful individual who maintains a positive, proactive attitude when faced with adversity.
