About Emily Steinbach

With a PhD in Biomedical Science- Radiation Oncology from University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, I am a Pediatric Research Fellow at UI Stead Family Children's Hospital and an Adjunct Professor at UI Department of Biology. I am passionate about advancing the knowledge and treatment of developmental diseases in children through innovative and evidence-based research and education. I have over four years of experience in conducting independent research, teaching, and mentoring students in the fields of pediatrics and biology. I have obtained multiple certifications in Good Clinical Practice, Aseptic Surgery, and Biomedical Ethics, and have published several papers in peer-reviewed journals. I have also collaborated with other researchers and clinicians to develop and test novel therapies and interventions for pediatric patients with kidney disease, neurological diseases, and cancer. My core competencies include medical research, redox biology-mediated diseases, and strategic thinking, which enable me to contribute to the mission and vision of UI Stead Family Children's Hospital and UI Department of Biology. My goal is to improve the quality of life and outcomes of children with diseases through innovative and evidence-based research and education.
