About Emily White

I’m a passionate and creative Costume Design graduate with a BA (Hons) in Costume for Theatre and Screen from Wimbledon College of Arts, University of the Arts London. With over 10 years of experience in garment construction, design and sewing, I use these skills to create both performance-ready costumes and wearable fashion pieces. I specialise in-Designing and creating original garments, available for sale or made-to-order at @whitestitchrework -Clothing alterations and repairs, from simple adjustments to detailed tailoring-Custom garments for events, performances, or personal wear-Home textile alterations, including curtains, cushions, and upholstery adjustments. Throughout my career, I’ve worked on diverse creative projects, including designing and constructing costumes for the Bridgwater Carnival and The National Gallery UAL takeover, for live performances and gallery exhibitions. My experience also includes styling, digital and physical illustration. Beyond my sewing services, I’m enthusiastic about sustainable fashion, which I explored in my earlier work and dissertation by creating garments from recycled materials. As well as holding a great passion for sewing and textiles, I have strong experience in studying fine art, printmaking and photography, while taking up fashion photography for my handmade pieces, to further support my artistic endeavours. I also bring a strong customer service background from my roles in retail and hospitality, ensuring I deliver great communication and experience. I’m very interested in any creative opportunities, whether that be part of a theatre company, creative team, individual client, artistic studio, commissions, or expert alterations — I’d love to connect!
