About Emilyen Laffineur

Emilyen first studied computer science at Haute Ecole Robert Schuman, where he learned about algorithms, object-oriented programming, databases, networks, and security. During his final year, he interned at Arhs Development from February to May 2016. During this period, his team developed training management software to handle Luxembourgish cofinancing documents. Emilyen completed several projects during his bachelor's degree. Still, the most important one was his final degree project, in which he worked with a real customer to design a random map generator software using the technology stack he had learned during his internship at Arhs Development. After completing his bachelor's degree, Emilyen pursued further studies and now holds a UCL Master's degree in Computer Science Engineering, specializing in artificial intelligence and software engineering. During his studies, he gained a strong understanding of machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, and bioinformatics. His final degree project involved creating an AutoML framework for dose prediction in radiotherapy. The goal was to design a complete AutoML pipeline that could be easily used with just a few command lines. The model could convert data to the correct format, set its parameters, train, and predict results. Thanks to the AutoML pipeline, the model was not tied to a specific dataset. After completing his master's studies, Emilyen began working at VEX Solutions in June 2022 as a developer and in charge of IT support.
