About Emma Andrada

As the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Affinity Healthcare Group (Affinity), I have extensive nursing and management experience having worked in public hospitals, government agencies and the private sector for over 20 years. My career commenced in 2001 as a registered nurse, across many clinical settings, and have held roles including Clinical Nurse Educator, Clinical Nurse Consultant and Nurse Unit Manager. I understand the complexity of delivering quality and cost-effective patient care in the hospital setting. Whilst at Queensland’s Department of Health, I led state level supply arrangements and healthcare purchasing, which facilitated access to healthcare and elective surgery for thousands of public patients in Queensland. As Affinity’s COO, I am a key member of Affinity’s senior leadership team and am responsible for driving operational excellence, efficiency, quality, compliance and managing risk across the entire organisation. Post graduate qualifications in nursing leadership and business administration underpin my ability to lead in dynamic and challenging environments. My professional interests and experience are in process optimisation, change management, system re-design, operational and quality improvement. I enjoy building systems that match an organisation’s unique operating models and function while engaging and collaborating with customers and end users. As a values-led and transformational leader, I am passionate about developing and mentoring our future leaders by helping them develop skills such as managing up, solution-focused and growth mindsets. I hope to inspire our future female leaders to desire more for themselves professionally and to value their ability to collaborate and engage.
