About Emma Bathurst

As an eager and ambitious student at the University of Texas at Austin, I understand the importance of many experiences and understanding others. Having a background in Communication & Leadership (CLD) and Business provides many opportunities to try new things and connect with others. Additionally, getting involved in the community through volunteering and music grants me the opportunity to connect with others, gaining a deeper understanding of how and why people do what they do. To be an effective business leader, one must understand the target audience and the system in which one is working. Studying in the area of communications enables me to understand that audience and taking on business-related classes and projects allow me to understand that system. Diversifying my classes and activities benefits my ability to pivot and problem solve. Through personal and academic experiences, I have realized my passion for people, business strategy, customer service, marketing, and positive change. When I am not taking on academic endeavors, you can find me enjoying or playing music, looking for good finds at the thrift store, or enjoying a pick-up game of soccer.
