About Emma Beard
I’m a University of Texas at Austin History BA holder, and a Texas State History MA holder. I have had a lifelong passion for museums and the conservation of history. I hope to assist organizations in their missions to identify and protect historical objects and sites. I have worked for the Dr. Pound Historical Farmstead, Texas Archive of the Moving Image, and Jourdan Bachman Pioneer Farms over the course of a year and a half, and I have recently completed my Museum Studies certificate via the Bridging Disciplines Program at UT. I have taken various history classes along with the Intro to Museum Studies courses which have provided me with sufficient knowledge in several areas of history, as well as a deeper appreciation for how museums function on various levels. When I’m not working, I enjoy hiking at any of Austin's beautiful local parks, trying new recipes at home, and watching BBC documentaries.
