I love telling other people’s stories and I’m slightly cringing at the prospect of telling my own. So here’s a list of 5 things you need to know about me- Making brilliant content is my bread and butter. Working as a senior producer for the last three years, I’ve turned my hand to pretty much all types of production for both TV and online platforms. I know what audiences and algorithms want and how to make content that brands are proud of and people want to engage with- I grew up and started my career in the UK and have lived in France for the past 10 years. Here, I’ve developed an appreciation for good food, great hikes and even better wine. Also, probably most importantly, the way French people have nailed being in the moment- I believe that stories deserve to be told well and that’s what I’m passionate about doing. I cut my teeth as a news journalist and moved on to tackle subjects including tech, travel, business, health, culture and the environment. Serving up programmes and articles in a way that makes people feel something is what I’m about- I respect people and I’m not ashamed to say I’m kind. For me, working in an environment where respect is the currency is essential. As I’ve inhabited more senior positions I’ve tried to take this ethos over into my management style- I’ve become a dab hand at commissioning. It sounds so simple, but communicating a clear brief for freelancers or colleagues is a skill in itself, as is making sure the content hits the nail on the head. I now know what detail is needed when giving out work and equally what questions to ask to make sure I understand a task- Writing is my first love and something I’ve worked hard at over the years - ask me to come up with an eye-catching headline or even a poem and I'll more than likely accept the challenge :)
