Professional Goal: Licensed Mental Health Counselor As someone whose goal is to become a mental health counselor, it is important for me to begin to have professional experiences in the field. In my personal life I have gained insight into and experience with adapting to change, processing loss and grief, self-compassion, and empathy for others in their struggles and personal journeys. I have passions for self-advocacy, empowerment, and understanding the mind-body connection and its impact on our health. I am equally interested in working with children and populations seeking help with self-improvement, guidance, and counseling. All of the courses I have taken at Brockport as well as the internship at Compeer Rochester have stimulated my interest in these areas. I believe that positive change can and will happen through the use of evidence-based practices in mental health, and I am passionate about helping to bring about that change.
