About Emma Brady
Hello! My name is Emma Brady and I am newly joining the Geology Field with my graduation from Iowa State University (May 2023). Upon graduating with my Bachelor's of Science in Geology in the Honors College, I am interested in pursuing a career in Hydrology and water quality. I have Assistant Geologist experience from my time with the South Dakota Geological Survey. At the State Survey, we focused on drilling water quality wells and mapping county-wide aquifers using ArcGIS. Drill rig types include auger-stem and mud-rotary drilling. Other tasks included field sampling, recording and analyzing drill cuttings, and pumping/aerating wells. I am currently completing my Honors Capstone Project that involves redesigning the Iowa State Geology Department Display Cases. With this, I hoped to not only apply my technical communication skills, but also combine my appreciation for creativity and education with my knowledge of geology.
