About Emma Carroll

I am currently a nursing student in VCU’s accelerated BSN program and finished my first semester on July 25th. In the past 5 months, I have clinically rotated throughout the Women’s Care Unit, Medical Psychology, Acute Care Surgery, Labor and Delivery, NICU, PICU, general pediatrics, and currently participating in throughout the Trauma Surgery Unit at VCU demonstrating critical skills and duties similar to that of a Care Partner such as patient assessment, assisting with ambulation and meals, documenting vital signs, documenting I’s and O’s, and aiding in complete patient care. My 7 years of experience in retail, serving, and childcare has also developed my skills in customer service, communication, and client satisfaction, as well as amplified my compassion for society. Furthermore, the opportunities I accepted volunteering in health clinics and orphanages in both Mexico and Nicaragua advanced my understanding of holistic patient care and culture. These experiences, I believe, would serve me well as a Registered Nurse and I look forward to furthering my career in the medical field.
