About Emma Corwin

I am a double major in Music and French Studies at Wheaton College (MA). In the future, I hope to attend graduate school for Ethnomusicology where my background and passion in music and language would be highly instrumental. In addition to my future goals in Ethnomusicology, I also have a variety of interests that have led me to pursue multiple employment and volunteer positions. I have participated in many leadership roles that require creative management and organizational skills, such as president of the Wheaton College steel drum ensemble, and the Wheaton Outdoors Club, program instructor at the Berkshire Outdoor Center, and counselor at Maine Youth Leadership. Participating in leadership roles has led me to my interest in management, communications, and leadership facilitation. I currently hold a variety of positions in the Office of Admissions at Wheaton College: Tour Guide, Admission Ambassador, Receptionist, and Senior Intern (September 2015). As a student worker in the Admissions Office, my mission is to connect with prospective students to share my enthusiasm for the college as well as provide information from a student perspective about the school. Having the opportunity to work in the Admissions Office has provided an environment where I can not only share my passion and enthusiasm for Wheaton College, but also gain valuable skills in communication, public speaking and interpersonal relationships. The variety of employment, internship, and volunteers positions I have held will be instrumental in shaping my path towards a career that incorporates my passion for music and language with leadership and communications in the field of ethnomusicology.
