About Emma Cullen

Currently a PhD student at Concordia University in the department of English literature, with a research focus on critical disability studies, digital storytelling, and co-creative narrative. I completed my MA at the University of Alberta in the department of English and Film Studies in 2021. My research explores the legacy of radical poetics in digital communities and considers how collaborative narrative forms can generate new modes of connection and cultural analysis. I completed my BA (Hons) in English Literature and Cultural Studies at Trent University in 2018, and worked there as a Research Assistant for three years on The Digital Page project, transcribing, digitizing, and coding the poetry of P.K. Page. I then continued working on literature digitization through my position as an RA in the UAlberta SpokenWeb team, working on audiotexts of poetry readings held at UAlberta between 1957-99. I have experience in teaching, marking academic work, copy editing, and managing digital communications for nonprofit organizations. I am highly skilled in editing, writing, and research. My research interests include experimental poetry and prose, electronic literature, narrative theory, critical disability studies, and research creation.
