About Emma Cullinane

I am currently working as a children and families support worker at Chime. I am hoping to further my education again studying an MA in Play Therapy. I have recently published my own children’s mindfulness activity book called My Superpower Is Being Me. I have previously completed a MA level 9 in Criminology in UCC, focusing on Law of Cybercrime, Law of juvenile Justuce, Children and young people and Organised Crime and illicit Enterprise. I have done work experience with the Garda Youth Diversion Project in Kings Island in Limerick. I am working with Youth Advocate Ireland (YAP) in Limerick. I currently volunteer with Le Cheile mentoring young people and their families. I did my BA Level 8 in Criminal Justice and Psychology in UL. I have done work experience in Bedford Row Family Project working with prisoners and ex-prisoners and their families working towards rehabilitation and reintegration into society. I did my Erasmus in the Netherlands in Utrecht, where I learned all about psychological disturbances and desistance from crime over the life span and criminal behaviour. I am very interested in juvenille justice, and the criminal justice system, the prison system/services and criminal behaviour as well as childrens rights. I believe it is our job as adults to protect children's rights and help advocate for their voices to be heard.
