About Emma Davis

I am the oldest sibling, oldest cousin, and oldest grandchild. Through this role of being the oldest of the next generation of my family, I have acquired skills and values in taking care of others, in addition to mentorship. I have provided caretaking duties for my cousins throughout my life, as well as been a role model for my brother growing up. By holding this position in my family, it has shaped my values, skills, and qualities to resemble those of a teacher and guider. I hold a passion for caretaking and teaching, especially those who are younger than I, as I have had practice providing life modeling to those younger than me for the majority of my life. Through the numerous experiences I have had working with children of all ages-during summer camps, tutoring services, babysitting, or simply through my interactions with family-it has provided me with a solid foundation of skills that allow me to better understand and work with the younger population. The passion for providing help and assistance in the way of instruction, conversation, or service has always been present, as it provides a sense of fulfillment for my actions to provide for those going through periods of growth. So, when thinking of careers, it makes sense to be in a place of work that grants me the opportunity to teach, mentor, and serve the people of the community, with the focus of my service centered on the students of the community. With this being said, I hope to attain a job in the field of education, advising or counseling. I often ponder the thought,"Children are the future," as I believe in the truth it holds. The statement brings up the importance in shaping and guiding children to reach their greatest potential, in order to ensure that our future continues to grow right along with them.
