About Emma Dickin

As Head of the In-House and the Public Sector Practice Area Groups, Lexis+ Dispute Resolution, and In-House Sector Strategy at LexisNexis (LN), I work closely with my multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure our practical guidance solutions evolve to meet the needs of our in-house legal, public sector legal, and law firm customers. A key part of my role is representing LN in the marketplace, regularly meeting customers, speaking at events, chairing panels, or running workshops at conferences. My day to day role at LexisNexis also involves managing a brilliant group of professional support lawyers (PSLs) with all the usual responsibilities running a team brings. My team is responsible for the Lexis+ Public Law, Local Government, Dispute Resolution and In-House Advisor Guidance practice areas. As part of the senior leadership team in the LN Legal Content Dept, I work very closely with my directors on departmental strategy, data and analytics, resource planning, budget etc. I am an experienced risk and compliance specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the legal services industry, having spent MANY years working as a PSL writing guidance for what is now the Lexis+ Practice Compliance, Practice Management & Risk & Compliance practice areas. I acted as UK Integration Manager for a recent LN acquisition (badged as 'a little side project' for me!) which involved working with the M&A team, with senior stakeholders from multiple LN teams in the UK, US and EMEA, with key RELX stakeholders and with all parties in the acquired company. My responsibilities covered all aspects of the end to end integration process. Going further back in time(!), I am a qualified lawyer, a legal research training expert and have also spent time managing both a customer training and a sales operations department so I have a good grasp of both the legal and commercial workings of an organization.
