About Emma Dolen

I am a chemical biologist with a passion for enzymology and drug discovery. Currently, I am a PhD student in the Chemical Biology program at Harvard University working in Tim Mitchison's laboratory. My doctoral research focuses on small-molecule inhibitor development and enzyme characterization. I have hands-on experience in assay design, chemical probe development, and inhibitor screening and characterization. Beyond my research, I am an active science communicator and mentor. I volunteer with Skype a Scientist to share insights into the drug discovery pipeline with classrooms nationwide, and I mentor undergraduate women in STEM through Harvard's WiSTEM program. Additionally, I serve as co-chair of Harvard's Therapeutics Graduate Program Student Steering Committee. I am enthusiastic about translating scientific discoveries into therapeutic solutions and connecting with professionals in the biotech and pharma industries to explore opportunities that make a real-world impact. Outside of the lab, you can find me hitting the trails or running road races with the Cambridge Running Club.
