About Emma Garner

I am a former missionary kid from Latin America, spending a little more than fourteen years living overseas. During this time, I worked in local schools, communities, and universities. I partnered with various ministries/missionaries with AGWM. I developed communication skills through translating, professionalism by working in ministries, and strong leadership skills through partnerships. It wasn't until I was seventeen years old when I left the field. For my college years, I studied Elementary Education at North Central University. I was able to land a teaching position right after graduation. I work at New Life Academy in Woodbury as one of the first grade teachers. What inspired me to pursue this career and become a teacher was my mother. Not only was she a full time teacher, but she was also a missionary. On top of schooling, my mother taught me valuable life lessons, morals, and skills. She is my primary inspiration and I'd love to become just like her.
