About Emma Grady

By the age of 17 I had already been attending the Highland Print Studio for 5 years, taking part in multiple instructor-led print making courses as one of the youngest members of the studio and covering techniques such as screen print, etching, photogravure and linocut. This experience culminated in two art exhibitions at the Eden Court (Inverness). However, at DJCAD I was inspired by Graphic Design and how it complimented my fine art skills enabling me to communicate ideas visually using graphic design techniques. Our tutors at DJACD encourage us to combine our own instincts for a new brief with the design principles we learn in tutorials and from our own research. To supplement my technical skills, I invested in professional courses (Adobe Illustrator & After Effects via Xchangetraining.com) and these courses brought additional insights and networking opportunities. Working with creative people has helped me become a better designer and taught me how to be part of a design team.
