About Emma Griffin

At the University of Connecticut, I am pursuing a dual degree in Mathematics/Statistics and Sport Management with the goal of entering a field related to data analytics in the sports setting. Having been a tri-sport athlete in high school and continuing this passion for sports into my college career, I cannot wait to delve into the data and mathematics behind the sport industry. I believe there is math in all of athletics, and we need to capitalize on it to foster the most competitive and successful programs. Taking specific classes to learn the algorithms and technology skills necessary to today's society, I am prepared after graduation to combine my passion of sports with my math capabilities. I have experience working for UCONN Recreation as a Competitive Sports Site Manager, interacting with intermural and club athletes to ensure positive experiences as an outlet from the extreme demands of being a student. Additionally, I have served as a youth basketball referee, youth softball pitching coach, and executive-board member of the UCONN Club Softball team. So, for years already I have been successfully developing the necessary interpersonal, organizational, leadership, and public speaking skills it takes to become a hard-working, organized, inclusive, and supportive member of the sports world.
