About Emma Herron

I am an MBA & Law graduate both of which I studied full-time distance learning whilst working full-time. Using my 10+ years of engineering knowledge and experience and legal knowledge, my goal is to guide my career into a business development role. I am a Royal Navy trained mechanical engineer with over 10 years experience in civilian engineering and technological roles include offshore environmental monitoring equipment as well as aerodynamic energy saving solutions for the retail industry. I currently work as a Project Manager for Wirth Research, overseeing our large programme of work with a leading supermarket distributor and retailer. I recently moved into this position after two years of Project Management in the Operations section where we supplied the energy saving Wirth Research EcoBlade product to large supermarkets and commercial open cabinet refrigeration manufacturers. My previous position at Kentech Instruments as a project engineer saw me overseeing the manufacture of their bespoke HV units, PAT testing, ensuring conformity to the relevant EU directives and maintaining all technical documentation associated with the units. My past position at Fugro GEOS as a Project Oceanographic Engineer saw me maintaining, repairing and deploying a wide range of oceanographic equipment, including marine observation buoys, deep oceanographic release transponders and RDI Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers. Whilst in the Royal Navy I gained extensive experience with Rolls Royce gas turbines (Olympus, Spey SM1A & Tyne),'V' 12 & 'straight' 8 marine diesel engines, marine fuel systems, marine firefighting techniques, and 3 phase electrical generation & distribution systems.
