About Emma Kuster

As the University Assistant Director of the South-Central Climate Adaptation Science Center, I serve as the main point of contact between our partners and researchers, and work with stakeholders on climate adaptation projects. I also serve as our Adult Education Specialist and lead climate training and education efforts for resource managers. In addition to the above, I manage the South Central CASC budget, assist the University Director, and oversee our Center’s research efforts. I performed my graduate studies in the geography department at the University of Oklahoma and held a Graduate Research Assistant position for the South Central Climate Science Center. My thesis research explored climate and land-use impacts on the transition zone between the forest ecosystem in eastern OK and the prairie ecosystem in western OK. I recently completed a second Masters Degree in Adult Education at OU to learn how to design and deliver effective and engaging trainings. I will be starting a PhD in August 2024 to continue building my career in this area of climate literacy.
