About Emma Ledger

After 12 years as a primary classroom teacher and curriculum leader, I moved quickly from Deputy Head Teacher into Headship. I spent 8 years as the Head Teacher of a large primary school in North Tyneside, UK, whilst also supporting other schools as the Primary Director of North Tyneside Learning Trust. The next step was an international challenge - I spent 6 years as Head Teacher of EYFS & Primary at The British School of Barcelona, one of the leading international schools in Catalunya. This was a wonderful opportunity to broaden my scope of strategic leadership, working across whole school teams and sharing knowledge, skills and expertise within our network of schools around the world! I also enjoyed opportunities to support other schools in Spain, UK and Europe; which provided a wealth of rich, collaborative experiences for the teams within our schools. My move to the UAE, in August 2023 has brought a further exciting career challenge as a school principal in a growing Cognita Middle East school system. I am also very blessed to have three amazing children; Georgia has flown the nest to become a great success in the music industry, Sonny left Spain to embark upon his university adventure back in the North East of England 🤍 and Marcie is also embracing her UAE adventure with me and is preparing to go back to Europe to study Fashion later this year. I am a very proud Mum!
