About Emma Lomonte

I am a doctoral student in Physics at the University of Münster (Germany) in the research group led by Prof. Wolfram Pernice. My main research project deals with the design, simulation, fabrication, and characterization of new components in the recently developed Lithium-Niobate-On-Insulator (LNOI) platform for application in quantum technologies and it embraces collaborations with Universities from Germany, Italy, UK, Austria, and Denmark. After the development of the fabrication workflow, I successfully integrated high-speed electro-optic modulators with waveguide-integrated single-photon detectors on a single low-loss photonic device. Right now I am focusing on efficient coupling interfaces and the experimental demonstration of innovative single-photon sources. Currently, I'm based in Toronto where I'm a fellowship intern in the hardware team of Xanadu Quantum technologies, Canadian company devoted "to build quantum computers that are useful and available to people everywhere". I have a strong inclination toward fast, dynamic, and international working environments. In my free time, I am a passionate gardener and cook.
